Love and tragedy are in the air of the Upper East Side. This week’s episode starts with Blair Waldorf admiring an engagement ring, Gasp! Here’s what happened on this week’s Gossip Girl:Flashback 24 hours earlier and Blair and Louis are all romantic, Serena is trying to make good with Blair, Chuck is trying to forget his knowledge of the video of his father, Dan is becoming BFF’s with Charlie, and Nate is torn between Chuck and Raina.
Charlie has a growing crush on Dan and Vanessa of all people is going to help her. Dan says he doesn’t like her, but he has a thing for blonde rich girls. It’s obvious how this is going to turn out, but I have no idea what he will think of Vanessa’s involvement. Charlie tries to impress Dan and goes way over board. She reveals that it was all Vanessa’s idea. Only it turns out Vanessa didn’t do anything and Charlie used her. Charlie is a quick learner, while Vanessa will never ever learn. Dan is going to get used, again!
Blair’s happiness is being threatened by the appearance of the Queen. Blair is surprised by her arrival, but not nearly as surprised as when she says that Louis is to be married. But we find out Louis isn’t actually engaged, but he has 24 hours to choose a bride. Serena is still set to destroy her. She is the worst best friend ever.
During her meeting with the Queen all of Blair’s secrets come out (courtesy of Serena). It looks like Blair may have won her over though by showing how much she has changed. Blair invites Serena to comes with her to the party that will determine her future. Chuck decides to crash the party too. This could spell disaster… or will it be Chuck who proposes. Oh, I hope so! That would be perfect ending to the season.
On the flip side, things are getting worse for Chuck every day. Raina won’t give up her search. Now he has a motive for Bart Bass’ possible crime. It appears he and Avery Thorpe were having an affair. Nate is torn between them, he eventually goes to Raina with the truth. Raina wants to get Chuck, even though he’s innocent in this.
Chuck isn’t handling this well. He looks like he’s on the verge of a serious breakdown. He rushes to the party with a ring. My heart is racing. Will it be Chuck? He shows up at the party drunk and causes a scene. He insults the queen, knocks over drinks and demands Blair tell him she love him. He eventually gets thrown out and Blair leaves embarrassed. The Queen tells Louis to end it.
Blair looks to be alone and the only one who is trying to grow up. She’s not so alone. Louis arrives at her house with only his heart and a ring. He says he doesn’t care about his family, he wants her. Louis proposes! Blair will be a princess. She goes to tell Chuck and he practically attacks her. He smashes glass cutting Blair. Now Blair is engaged, but it’s not as happy as it should be. It’s a fairy tale gone wrong.
Things are getting even worse for Chuck. Nate has turned his back on his friend and Raina is plotting the worst scheme ever. She has called the one person who can truly hurt Chuck, Uncle Jack. Things are going to get messy. It’s time for Chuck to get a break. Remember the start of the season when he was so happy in Paris.
