I honestly don’t even know what to say about LV’s window display. This whole Safari-Africa thing is a bit late, but I suppose they have done it bombastically well. The ostrich is superfun, and can you imagine getting to design it? Its head may be stuck in the mud, but it’s going to dig up some fresh fashion eggs for sure. Kudos to the designers for the whole window motif, especially since the shoes are displayed as being live things that cracked out of eggs.
I tried on the totally wild LV zebra heels in red and pink (they call this one “fuschia”) upstairs on the third floor. Problem numero uno, as I see it, is that the black toe strap is too tight, but I don’t suppose you’re planning on walking in these anyways, ladies? The heel was very high, and the heel cap presses you forward a bit. The straps are very thin, so there won’t be a lot of support there. But these exotic animals were not made for walking, they were made for being gawked at. You will be stared at like a safari animal for sure if you wear these.
The zebras feature 4.4-inch heels, pretty little Strass crystals, Strass-encrusted buckle accessories, leather soles, padded insocks, and fabrics including suede and silk.
